My source are news articles from german websites, forums and Videos. I have seen plenty. ;-) The info is 100% certain. Many are disappointed in Germany that the ST didn't get the new exhaust. Seat says it's because for the longer chassis of the ST the new exhaust would have created too much vibrations for the back seat passengers. They want to keep it family friendly.

They don't know much here in Finland in the car sales places, I also noticed that. But it's the same in Germany... ;-) 

Maybe you have tested the ST? The ST didn't get the new exhaust system, only the 5D and SC. Sound is supposed to be more bassy. Those who have driven it in Germany say the sound is significantly better than the 280 sound. There is a big difference, at least from the outside of the car... Makes sense, because they completely changed the exhaust system, there is one silencer less than in the 280.

I pick mine up tomorrow. Only heard it in videos so far. There are a couple of 290 vids on Youtube...

I have manual too. 4.8 is good, but for how many kms? And what kind of roads? I get that too, intermediately...

Some info about the petrol consumption of my Blue GT (bought and used here in Finland) : The MFD (which is pretty accurate so far) shows an average consumption for now about 5000km of 5.9 liters. I mostly drive longer distances, but also in the city. I did push the car a little bit at times, but mostly drove in a rather fuel efficient way. My lowest average consumption for a day trip of a few hundred kms was 5.2 l, mostly driving between 80 and 100 using cruise control. I still try to get under 5, just for the fun of it, but I think that might be difficult... ;-)
